The essential hormone test that every man should have!

The Forever Health Male Basic Hormone Panel tests the levels of four basic hormones essential to male health. Monitoring your hormone levels is critically important for effective hormone replacement therapy and healthy aging.

The Forever Health Male Basic Hormone Panel measures your levels of DHEA, testosterone, estrogen, and prostate-specific antigen (or PSA) — all hormones essential to healthy male aging. As men age, youthful levels of DHEA and testosterone will decline, while levels of PSA and estrogen can rise. DHEA and testosterone are vital for a man’s optimal health. It’s also important to routinely check your blood for free testosterone and estrogen, to ensure that your body is processing DHEA properly.

Fasting is not required. Take all medications as prescribed.

The Male Basic Hormone Panel measures:

  • DHEA-S — a precursor for sex hormones including estrogen and testosterone, it’s important to mood, immune function, energy, and maintenance of bone and muscle mass.
  • Estradiol (an estrogen) — represents the major form of the estrogen hormone. High levels are linked with abdominal fat, an enlarged prostate, and cardiovascular risk. Low levels are associated with osteoporosis. An elevated estrogen level relative to low testosterone levels is often the cause of male hormone imbalance and its attendant effects.
  • Free and Total Testosterone — a steroid hormone from the androgen group primarily secreted in the testes, it directs the metabolism and the repair and regeneration of healthy tissues. Heart disease, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, and low libido have been attributed to low testosterone levels.
  • PSA — produced exclusively by the cells of the prostate gland, prostate specific antigen (PSA) in conjunction with the digital rectal examination is a useful screening test for benign prostate enlargement and prostate cancer development.

NOTE: Blood tests are available only in the continental United States and Anchorage, AK. Not available in Maryland. Your blood test requisition options are a LabCorp requisition form or a blood draw kit. Certain restrictions apply for residents of MA, NY, NJ, RI, and PA. Customers in MA, NY, NJ, and RI will receive a blood draw kit, and an additional local blood draw fee may be incurred. PA customers must go to LabCorp for their blood draw.
