Supports bone density & arterial health

Vitamin K is critical to maintaining healthy bone density because it facilitates the transport of calcium from the bloodstream into the bone. Vitamin K is also required by calcium-regulating proteins in the arteries. Without enough vitamin K, calcium in the blood can bind to the arterial wall resulting in calcification. So even a slight vitamin K deficiency can pose risks to your vascular system.

There are 3 forms of vitamin K your body needs for healthy bone density and cardiovascular health. Vitamin K1, found in plants and vegetables, is so tightly bound to the plant fiber that only a small fraction of it is ever absorbed into your bloodstream. Vitamin K2 is found in meat, eggs, and dairy products — and is also produced by bacteria in your gut.

Vitamin K2 is far better absorbed (up to 10 times better) than K1. The MK-4 form of vitamin K2 is very rapidly absorbed, while the MK-7 form of vitamin K2 stays biologically active in your body far longer and at higher blood levels during that prolonged period.

To avoid a vitamin K deficiency, supplementation is highly advisable. This comprehensive complex gives you all three forms of the vitamin K you need: K1, MK-4 and MK-7, each at an optimal dosage in just one convenient softgel a day.
