Female Basic Hormone Panel Blood Test
Test subject must be 18 years or older.
The essential hormone test that every woman should have!
The Forever Health Female Basic Hormone Panel tests the levels of four basic hormones essential to female health. Monitoring your hormone levels is critically important for effective hormone replacement therapy and healthy aging.
The Forever Health Female Basic Hormone Panel measures your levels of DHEA-S, estradiol (an estrogen), free and total testosterone, and progesterone — all hormones essential to healthy female aging. As women age, youthful levels of DHEA will decline. Testing for estrogen and testosterone, along with DHEA, helps evaluate DHEA’s effect on your body’s hormone levels.
Fasting is not required. Take all medications as prescribed. However, please note that taking contraceptives which contain hormones will invalidate the test results.
The Female Basic Hormone Panel measures:
- DHEA-S — a precursor for steroid hormones like estrogen and testosterone, it’s important to mood, immune function, energy, and maintenance of bone and muscle mass.
- Estradiol (an estrogen) — the most active form of the estrogen hormone. Comparing its relationship to progesterone helps in evaluating symptoms of menopause like hot flashes and mood disorders.
- Free and Total Testosterone — a steroid hormone from the androgen group primarily secreted in the ovaries, it directs the metabolism and the repair and regeneration of healthy tissues. Low levels are linked to heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, chronic infections, and loss of libido.
- Progesterone — a powerful hormone, it balances the effects of estrogen. Healthy progesterone levels have multiple health benefits, including balanced blood sugar, better sleep, reduced anxiety, and healthy bone growth.
