Your first step to successful weight loss

The Forever Health Weight Loss Comprehensive Panel measures key hormones and health markers that impact your weight. With your blood test results in hand, your physician can effectively prescribe an individualized and effective course of treatment for weight management.

Do you feel as though you have tried everything to lose weight? Fad diets, counting calories, hitting the gym ... and the scale still doesn't budge? Have you ever considered that hormonal imbalances might be keeping you from reaching your weight loss goals?

This panel is designed to look at hormones contributing to weight gain or difficulty in shedding those few extra pounds in both men and women. It also looks at the key thyroid markers necessary for weight management and weight loss.

This is Forever Health's most comprehensive weight loss panel and contains free T4, reverse T3, insulin, vitamin D 25-hydroxy, C-reactive protein (CRP), and ferritin in addition to the following tests:

  • Free and Total Testosterone — a steroid hormone from the androgen group, primarily secreted in the ovaries or testes, it directs the metabolism and the repair and regeneration of healthy tissues. Low levels are linked to abdominal fat, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, and loss of libido.
  • DHEA-S — a hormone secreted by the adrenal gland, it's important to mood, immune function, energy, feelings of well-being, and maintenance of muscle and bone mass.
  • TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) — is produced by the pituitary gland, and stimulates your thyroid to produce T3 and T4 — and is used to screen for thyroid disease.
  • Free T3 — is used to assess thyroid function. Optimal thyroid function supports your resting metabolic rate, an essential aspect of maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Estradiol — represents the major form of the estrogen hormone. High levels are linked with abdominal fat and cardiovascular risk. Low levels are associated with osteoporosis.
  • Progesterone — a powerful hormone, it balances the effects of estrogen. Healthy progesterone levels have multiple health benefits. An imbalance between progesterone and estrogen is linked to weight gain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, migraine, cancer, and osteoporosis.
  • Cortisol — the major adrenal steroid hormone, it is controlled by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus. Stress increases the production of cortisol in order to mobilize energy to manage and resolve the stressor. Chronic stress can fatigue the adrenal gland, disrupting its control over cortisol.
  • Hemoglobin A1C — evaluates long-term blood sugar control and glycation levels, which researchers believe is intimately involved in accelerated aging.
  • Chemistry/CBC profile — the cornerstone of any complete physical, has more than 40 components. The Chemistry Panel helps assess cardiovascular risk, metabolic function (glucose), cholesterol, minerals important for bone health, plus liver and kidney function. The Complete Blood Count provides information regarding your immune system, infection, anemia, cancer of the blood (leukemia), nutritional deficiencies, your body's ability to clot, and more.

Fasting for 8 to 12 hours is required for this blood test. Drink plenty of water and take all medications as prescribed. Do not take your supplements the day of the test.

Special Note: Any type of contraceptive that contains hormones will invalidate hormone results.

NOTE: Blood tests are available only in the contiguous United States and Anchorage, AK. Not available in Maryland. Your blood test requisition options are a LabCorp requisition form or a blood draw kit. Certain restrictions apply for residents of MA, NY, NJ, RI, and PA. Customers in MA, NY, NJ, and RI will receive a blood draw kit, and an additional local blood draw fee may be incurred. PA customers must go to LabCorp for their blood draw.
